New contributor - I have just upgraded Office 2016 for Mac to Office 2019 for Mac. The Spotlight Search option in Outlook no longer works - I get no results, even when I am looking at an email, and searching for a word or phrase or sender in that email. Mac OS includes Spotlight Search. Mac OS controls the indexing of the hard disk for Spotlight Search. Both versions of Outlook for Mac rely on Spotlight Search to provide search results for Outlook data. The filters in Outlook for Mac also rely on Spotlight Search to provide search results. In the Navigation pane, click Mail. On the Edit menu, point to Find, and then click Outlook Items. The Search tab appears. Define the scope of the search by clicking a scope button on the Search tab, such as Subfolders or All Mail. Add any of the following criteria to refine your search: On the Search tab, click. I’ve searched the forums and manuals and cannot find what should be the most basic function of a file repository, the SEARCH FUNCTION. I’m running WD My Cloud v 0.0.0 - can someone point me to instructions on how to search WD My Cloud files on a Mac? The “drive” is not mounted, the files are viewed through this WD application. Saturday, December 4, 2010, 11:46 PM – Tips and Hints Safari has a great built-in search feature that allows you to search for words on web pages. Actually, other search engines may have the same capabilities if you know to look for it. In Safari, select Command + F and a little search field appears in the top right corner of Safari’s main window. Type in a word and as soon as you start typing, it starts searching. You don’t have to hit return to make it work. If it finds your search term on the page, it highlights the first place it finds it in bright yellow (and lists how many times that term appears on the page). If the word appears on the page more than once, you can press the right arrow button the left of the search field and it will jump to the next instance where the word appears. When you are finished searching, either click the Done button to the right of the search field or hit the ESC key on your keyboard. Here is an example. |
